Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences, Beijing, randomises first 2 patients from China to SUPREMO 

Congratulations to Prof Ye-xiong Li and Associate Prof Shulian Wang at the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences, Beijing, for randomising their first 2 patients to SUPREMO on the 8th July 09.  This represents the first time that patients from China have been recruited into an international academic radiotherapy trial under the auspices of Breast International Group (BIG).

Well done to Tammy Robson at the Endocrine Cancer Group, Edinburgh who completed the 1st SUPREMO Tissue Microarray (TMA) in June.

The SUPREMO monthly recruitment record was broken in June 09 when 34 patients were randomised to the trial.  The SUPREMO team would like to congratulate the research teams at the following sites for their achievements in June and their valued contributions to this accrual:

Dr Wendy Jeanneret at Centre Hospitalier Universitaire Vaudois for randomising the 1st patient from Switzerland to SUPREMO.

Dr George Plataniotis, Dr Ravi Sharma, Dr Shailesh Chaturvedi, Dr Elizabeth Smyth, Dr Steven Heys, Dr Claire Stilwell, Margaret Smith, Linda Barnett, Sue Rodwell and Diane MacKenzie at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary who randomised their 1st 2 patients to the trial in June.

Dr Chris Cottrill, Janet Kiff, Anna Font-Gonzalez and Melanie Scott at Barts & The London NHS Trust who also randomised their 1st 2 patients to SUPREMO in June.

Dr Philip Murray, Dr Devyanee Basu, Rachel White, Andrea Appleby and Lorna Dewar at Essex County Hospital who randomised their 1st patient.

Dr Audrey Champion, Annette Bolger and Ceri Griffiths at Wrexham Maelor Hospital who also randomised their 1st patient.

Prof Neville Davidson and Kathy Rooke for opening SUPREMO to recruitment at Chelmsford & Essex Centre in June.
