SUPREMO Training Days, September 2008, London, Birmingham, Glasgow

The SUPREMO trial, though simple in design, has a number of sub-studies, including TRANS-SUPREMO, Quality of Life and the Cardiac Sub-Study. This additional complexity has led to a lack of clarity at many sites, which we are aiming to address with a series of Training Days. Modelled on our successful Cardiac Sub-Study Training Days, but expanded to cover the whole trial, these will run on the following dates in the following locations:

  • Friday 5th September, London
  • Friday 19th September, Birmingham
  • Friday 26th September, Glasgow

The meetings will include:

  • Background information on SUPREMO and its sub-studies
  • Recruitment challenges & solutions
  • Focussed workshops on practical aspects of trial procedures including handling of blood samples, data management & and an echo workshop (not all days)

The programme is (virtually) identical for each day, and has been submitted to the Royal College of Radiologists for CPD accreditation. We will reimburse delegates for travelling expenses to attend the meetings (economy train/ air fares) and there is no fee for registration. Please feel free to download the provisional programme (.pdf) and registration form (.pdf), applicable for all days.

2nd Annual Investigators Meeting, 20th June 2008, Edinburgh

Dedicated page here.

The 2nd Annual Investigators Meeting for the SUPREMO trial is on Friday 20th June 2008 in the Carlton Hotel, Edinburgh. This will provide an update on progress of the trial within the UK, the EORTC and other international trial groups. It will also feature a guest lecture by Lori Pearce from the University of Michigan entitled "Radiation Planning in the Treatment of Breast Cancer" and a presentation by David Cameron, Director of the NCRN, outlining "The New Framework for Cancer Research in the NHS: Challenges and Opportunities". There is a strong educational component to the meeting and the programme (.pdf) has been submitted for CPD accreditation by the Royal College of Radiologists.

We will reimburse delegates for travelling expenses to attend the meeting (economy train/air fares) and there is no fee for registration.  Please note that places may be limited therefore early registration (.pdf) is advised.
